Choosing Best Flexography Option Part II: the Ink

Choosing the Best Flexography Option, Part II: the Ink

There are a lot of small details that all add up to produce great final products when it comes to curing, laminating, and printing. There are a few big factors that also must be considered if you want the best graphics for your customers—ones you have to get right or your process will never be able to compete on the open market. For example, the type of ink you use will have a dramatic effect on price, speed, quality, and cost.

Electron beam flexography inks have become the new gold standard in Flexo quality. They allow you to have more color options, smaller dots, sharper images, and better repeatability. One of the ways you achieve superior images is with tonal gradations down to 3 percent along with FM screening.

When it comes to ultra-high solids inks, there is less dot gain. That results in better and more consistent repeatability. eBeam inks are also extremely durable. Which means you have higher resistance to scratches, chemicals, and rubbing. There’s no sense in having an amazing printing product if it looks used by the time it hits the storefront.

Implementing electron beam ink into your printing process will give you a more green operation as well, with the lowest odor and extractables. And expensive photoiniators are no longer needed so you can save time and money too.
